About the Artist

In the presence of Ana Popescu's work, it's important to avoid any din. Her drawings and paintings are all about silence and contemplation. The brushes of this French expatriate in Vienna prefer the murmur of minimalism to graphic explosions. Her stripped-down compositions are adorned with polished perspectives and luminous flat tints, transporting the viewer into images of geometric subtlety that gradually transform the real world into an abstract escape. The architectures and interiors that Ana Popescu is particularly fond of become the setting for an elegant encounter between colors and shapes, between line and space, between the palpable and the imaginary. In the face of this low-key discussion, the viewer is compelled to remain silent in order to perceive the gentle symphony that emerges from the images.

Kiblind Atelier is an independent risograph print studio in Lyon, France, born from the illustration magazine Kiblind. Since 2017 it has printed bold, limited-colour posters with illustrators from around the world, using vegetable-based inks and certified paper.

Invented in Japan in the 1940s, risography is a stencil-based, layer-by-layer printing technology similar to screen printing, using direct tones, i.e. pure colors with a luminous, intense rendering.

The riso prints cold (low consumption), on uncoated paper (less processed), with vegetable oil-based inks and no solvents. Part of the machine is made from recycled materials, and all consumables are collected and recycled in partnership with the Conibi organization.

Kiblind's risographs are printed on MUNKEN Print White 150g uncoated paper, made from ECF pulp and FSC and PEFC certified.
